There are a number of programs for children at the library! Take a look below to see what we offer.

New Program!
SaterPlay:
Join us for fun games, crafts, activities, and more! Each month is a different activity. Come in to find out what we are doing this time! This program runs once every 4 weeks from 10:30-11:30 on Saturdays. All ages, geared towards 6-10. Drop-in.

Family Board Games:
This is our Board Game program for all ages! Bring your family or friends and play one of our games! Drop in any time between 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Toddler Time:
Toddler Time is a program is for all littles, ages birth – 3 and their caregivers and begins at 10am every Thursday morning during the school year. Join us for stories, songs and Makerspace activities!
There is no need to register for this program, just drop in!

Lego Club:
Join us for exciting new LEGO building challenges every month!
Jr Builders runs the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, for kids ages 4 – 7.
Sr Builders is the second Wednesday of every month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, for kids ages 8 – 12.
There is no need to register for this program, just drop in!

Monthly Colouring Contest for Kids:
Colour a picture for our library tree and get entered into the draw to win a book!
Our Children’s Librarian Katie is happy to answer any questions, just reach out or stop by the library.

Craft Kits:
Seasonal craft kits are available for pick up at the library. All craft kits are free.
Be sure to stop by and pick one up!

Check out MakerSpace!
We have lots going on, including craft materials, playdough, puppets, puzzles, board games, STEM toys, and more!

Sensory Play Backpacks:
Thanks to a very generous donation by Thousand Islanders Chorus, we have been able to put together two backpacks filled with sensory toys and books for kids. Come by and check them out!

Backpack Program:
These are available for all ages, geared towards 3 to 11 years.
Themed family backpacks filled with books for a variety of reading levels, craft kits, a movie and fun activity sheets.
Outdoor Mapsacks filled with all things outdoors. Different themes are available. This program has been made available through The Mapsack Project – Where literacy meets Nature. Mapsacks have passes to Ontario Parks and Rideau Conservation Authority.
